Holidays Start Early For Construction

Have you ever wondered why New York is so quiet in the winter months? That’s because the Department of Transportation issues an annual Holiday Construction Embargo against outdoor construction in particular parts of the city. The embargo, which is in effect from November 15th through January 2nd, 2013, halts non-emergency work in designated areas.
