The Tombs-Manhattan Dentention Complex

The Manhattan Detention Complex consisted of a South Tower, the former Manhattan House of Detention remodeled and reopened in 1983, and a North Tower across White Street, completed in 1990. The complex housed inmates, most of them pretrial detainees. The total capacity of the two buildings was nearly 900 people.

To facilitate the complete demolition of the Manhattan Detention Complex, encompassing the 19-story South and 14-story North towers, KM Associates oversaw numerous application filings, variances, and code determinations with the NYC Department of Buildings and Department of Transportation.
