New Building
NYPD 121st Precinct
The borough’s first new police precinct in more than 50 years, the $65.5 million stationhouse officially dedicated in 2013, was built to be the headquarters of the newly created 121st Precinct, the fourth on the Island.
Located at 970 Richmond Ave., near Forest Avenue, the modernistic building — resembles a giant stapler —is a symbol of the borough’s relentless growth. Designed to increase police visibility on the west and north shores it will also decrease response time. “This new precinct, created from parts of the 120th and 122nd precincts, meets some long-identified needs here in rapidly growing Staten Island,” said Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
