The New York City Department of Buildings (DOB) has confirmed that the deadline to install natural gas alarms in applicable residential buildings remains January 1, 2027.
Pursuant to Local Law 102 of 2025, the installation deadline would only be extended if fewer than four manufacturers produced approved battery-powered natural gas alarms.
